Mr Colors by Hawaii

CL Swirls used on refurbished quilt "Mr. Colors"

"My friend brought over a scrap quilt that was pretty worn, well-used by her daughter (now 30) who named it Mr. Colors, when she was a wee one. It was made by her Japanese Grandma in the sixties (you can tell by the psychedelic colors!)

Mom was pretty jazzed with the design and the best part (besides a well-defined design) was that the seams were strengthened with the CL Swirls and this quilt will last another decade or so!

We replaced the backing and added Mountain Mist White Rose Batting (thin cotton). Maxiloc thread." Barbara, Hawaii

Mary Lou's Quilt from Renee Mirazo

Hi,
Renee Mirazo of New Mexico sent me these pictures and story.

"Hi – I am sending some pictures of a quilt Mary Lou just quilted. She is my current apprentice and this is only the 2nd quilt she has done on the longarm. Your Swirls template made her look like an old time pro. She is taking to longarming like a duck takes to water.

Some members of our Church (St. Francis Catholic Church in Reserve) formed a guild(?) called Friends of St. Francis. One of our projects is to make comfort quilts for members of our parish that need comforting. Since we are in a remote area young people move away for work and frequently return when they retire. When we started one of our group figured out that we were already 4 quilts behind before we had made even one quilt. The goal is to have a stash of quilts. The group picture is only part of our workers. Not all are quilters. We have pinners and pressers and with everyone working it is amazing how much work gets done in one afternoon. We now have 6 quilt tops completed so I needed an apprentice!

Hawaii Swirls by Barbara Long

This is Barbara's first quilt using the Circle Lord Swirls Template.

"The fabric was purchased from FabricMart - here in Hawaii. It was marked 100% cotton. But I suspect that it is not. It is super bright and drapable (like a soft rayon), I pre-washed it and it seems to hold it's color and did not shrink."

"I took a hands-on class at MQS with Debbie Wendt. It took about 3 to four hours to make AND quilt a lap-sized quilt on the Longarm, from start to finish. She even taught us a method for binding the quilt on the longarm. She has written a book on this technique:“Construction and Production – Making and Binding a Quilt on a Longarm, Midarm or Shortarm” and will be teaching at Innovations. " Barbara

Here is another Swirls quilt by Renee Mirazo.
Cheers, Michael

"Clemencia's Romantic Rosy Quilt. This was made from a Kaffe Fassett kit. The quilt is found in Kaffe's Quilt Road book. I quilted it using Circle Lord's Swirls template. It is such a busy quilt that I am amazed at how well the quilting shows up." Renee

Hi Kay and Michael,
Thank you for your kind note! I LOVE my Circle Lord! As a new longarm quilter, I was really struggling with the learning curve. I was YEARS away from making anything so pretty, until I got your wonderful product! The funny thing is, my husband...who is very good with finances and he's incredibly tight ;-) was not too happy when I first bought my templates. Now he LOVES to quilt the Swirls. I have to help with tension issues, etc, but he is taking over the quilting! It is nice that we have something to do together. Thank You so much for your product, and I want to buy more, soon,
Hugs to you both, Karen and Tommy Simons in Louisiana
